Hello gente-

I hope you are finding some sanity in the insanity. I wrote a post a few days ago on my thoughts on the Fort Hood name change and it’s lost now. Substack can’t explain why and it’s apparently my fault.

I will likely save all of this as I attempt to post again. We have a lot to talk about. I’m going to speak heavy on Chicanismo and the upcoming wars.

In local news, Fort Hood, which isn’t that close to San Antonio, is going to change its name from Fort Cavazos back to Fort Hood because Trump wants confederates remembered forever.

I heard about Fort Hood back in the day, It was grim and the guy telling me about it seemed shook up at the time. I shrugged my shoulders and thought I’d never be there any way and this is typical Military base bullshit. I’m not sure who told you the lie that military bases are a fun park but I assure you it wasn’t your momma or daddy. It’s a military base full of young white, black, brown people mixed in, boozing and drinking. It’s a college with weapons. There’s a person in command and its own rules that mirror civilian laws.

No one gave a shit about Fort Hood until Vanessa Guillén was murdered. Please keep in mind, she was not the first. These murders or “missing “ soldiers has been going on for decades. It just so happens in the internet era, that Vanessa’s sister went viral.

I absolutely loved when the mother yelled in Spanish that if Fort Hood didn’t find Vanessa, she would do everything in her power to shut it down.

Let’s talk about that. An elder Mexicana mother, grieving her daughter, said on national television, she will shut down a military base if they don’t find her daughter. This wasn’t really decorum. She meant it with her heart.

Keep in mind, Fort Hood wanted it to go away. The story went national so they did a search and eventually found Vanessa dismembered in the woods.

Here in Texas, the media was spinning out stories that Vanessa was involved in sexual encounters with higher ranking soldiers and possibly married men.

The media made sure to put some kind of story that she was sexual and this all was a fallout of being a “whore.” It came across to me as “blame it on the game” not Fort Hood.

If you’re still reading, women in the military have horror stories of constant sexual harassment and rape. Remember, before you you give Timmy a medal for shooting someone in Afghanistan, that story about him and that female soldier that was swept under the carpet, years ago, is also apart of his story.

It happens so much that it makes the whole fucking enlistment beyond sickening. It makes you want to burn your dress uniforms and never speak of the military again. I worked with a female in the Marines who called me crying her guts out because she was raped the night before by a group of Marines and needed surgery. I drove her to the doctor.

Just because you enlist

Take an oath

Wear a uniform

Doesnt meant you’re a good, worthy person. And for mi gente, it doesn’t make you a 2nd class Hispanic citizen. You will always be brown and deportable no matter how much you punch the dashboard of your car screaming American Citizen as a cop walks away.

I must say that for a moment, I really felt for the Guillén family and kept following there story for the Vanessa Guillén act. You can watch this doc on Netflix. They appeal to Trump to get this act passed. He doesn’t. Biden did.

Here’s the mind fuck. The Guillén’s are Trump supporters. Last I checked, Mayra was running for office as Trump as her influence.

Gente, are you fucking kidding me.

Fort Hood was renamed to Fort Cavazos in a weird attempt to restore some pride or dignity if there is any. Cavazos was a Chicano 4 Star General if that matters to you. It matters to the Cavazos family but I remember reading that Fort Guillén was also considered.

Can you imagine the higher ups at Fort Hood in a room saying “ What do these fucking beaners want? To change the name of your base to that girls name? Fine. Whatever. Just get the cameras outta here so we can go back to Fort Hooding Texas style.”

I’m pretty sure it went that way. Then, some one suggests Cavazos…you know, to appease Chicano patriots who were upset. It wasn’t to please black people or racist whites. It was strictly to tell gente “ there you go, a Chicano general. Now leave us alone.

Fast forward- Trump, as we knew it, wants all the confederates back up. Fort Cavazos will become Fort Hood again and the people most furious are the Cavazos family.

They felt pride. They thought this was their 15 minutes of Chicano fame to have their Jefe’s name on this disgraceful military base and they want to fight to keep it Cavazos.

The military is the biggest weapon we have. I don’t have the figures infront of me but I’m sure Chicanos, blacks, Asians etc make up a huge part of it. The white boys and white girls that enlist are likely a legacy which makes sense if you understand the legacies of white military.

It is not in our lineage to be pro military. I don’t care how many Aztec Warriors come out and tell me that being a soldado is in their DNA. Chicano patriots are the worst. I grew up with one.

You are Chicano first. You will always be brown. You will always be descendants of Mexico. You will always be the people of bronze. No US military enlistment will change this. No college degree. No lottery winnings will change how you are viewed by racist whites, middle of the road whites and ghetto whites.

Recently, our dimpled Chicano TV star from the 90s, Mario Lopez, got called out by gente regarding ICE raids in LA. I knew he was a republican and Trump supporter so the new cancellation of Mario seemed to be “just because” or did we really think we were gonna see “the color inside him?” Mario is just a face for white people to accept on a cheese ball level. He’s nothing. The revolution isn’t lead by AC Slater.

I also saw content creators begrudgingly share their thoughts on the raids and both-side the issues. Remember, they need your follows and likes. Yes, Chicanos are needed for votes, likes, follows, to fill in those seats at dodger stadium and to earn our pennies only to give them back to those in charge.

We get to live here for a time as Chicanos…usually poor, surviving, struggling, trying, hoping, praying etc

I have news for you mi queridos. You are rich in beauty, strength y corazon. Our codicies were burned because we had the answers. We are the people of bronze and we need to stop having decorum for the people actively trying to kill us.

My Chicano soldiers and Marines, choose yourself, your family, your ancestors to protect, not trump.

Don’t enlist. The revolution is you leaving the military behind. We need you. There’s no more merit for gente who enlist. He wants you to point an M-16 at your relatives.

This is not you.

Your oath is to our gente. We must fight Trump and his cronies any way we can.
